  1. Of course, the judge made the right call. It could have been better with 100% strict, but 99% is definitely better than 50%.

    • Have you ever been barefoot on hot concrete? She needs foot wear when she is walking around outside (other scenarios would also allow her to wear foot wear for protection), but as soon as she is indoors, where the floor won’t be scorching hot, if she is on strict variant, then she will take the foot wear off.

      • Yeah, conceivably you’d be limited to sandals or something, but I think shoes would pretty much always meet the definition of safety equipment when worn outdoors. I mean walking down the street barefoot isn’t very risky, I’m fairly casual about it myself if say I have to retrieve something from the car when it’s parked a few houses down, but glass, nails, thorns, and so on are always a legitimate concern.

        • I had a friend who disliked shoes and trained herself to go most places barefoot. I think she wore boots for hiking, but around urban areas was always barefoot. She once, to the best of my knowledge, cut her foot on some broken glass. I asked how she did it, and got the response, “I’m careful about what I step on.”
