  1. Swimsuits are expensive, but Mom can afford a pointless and stupid smoking habit? That’s some white trash shit, right there. LOL

Secondly, how young is the girl if she’s still “outgrowing” clothes? Not to split hairs, but that’s a little bit concerning. Probably not meant in the sense that she is “still growing” from a child into an adult, but it reads kind of awkwardly, IMO. Maybe it’s more like she developed larger breasts and her top didn’t fit? Or she gained weight? I get the idea, but it’s still giving me a bit of a “cringe” with that particular wording.

    • Yeah, I wrote the mom trashy in purpose. As for the outgrowing, well my intent was that they don’t get to the beach very often so it might have been quite some time since she wore her old one. I do see how it could be read that she’ll still growing… but not what I meant.

      • Yeah, I assumed as much about the intention on the second part. It’s kind of like when an adult tells a teen/young adult “Wow, you got big!” It’s an awkward way of saying “You’re taller than when I saw you last” not “You’re overweight”. But it still hits the ear the wrong way sometimes.

        • As a parent myself, I saw it as that time when you find yourself with an adult child still living in the house and not pulling their weight. You start refusing to buy stuff for them when they ask to try and plant the idea in their heads that maybe it’s time to get a job and buy their own stuff rather than going for an all out confrontation.

  2. They say mom knows best. Her daughter should pay attention out of respect. Later, she can do whatever she wants to do. If she wants to purchase a new bathing suit she should pay for it herself. That is my advice.

    • Looks like a compressed cardboard lollipop stick to me. Seems a bit long and thin for a cig.
