Saw the eclipse. It was fun. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate, but it didn’t totally ruin the show either. Anyway I’ll get back to more regular posting tomorrow, although it might take me a little longer to get up to full speed.
As promised I tried to take some pics again. I think these are undeniably better than the orange blob from 2017, but they’re still just cell phone pics, you know. I’m sure you can find much cooler eclipse pictures online if you’re interested.
Those are, from top to bottom: 1) Totality between the clouds. 2) The same zoomed out to show you can also see a star in the sky despite this being midday. 3) Last sliver of sun from just before that, which I thought came out a little more aesthetically pleasing.

In the middle pic, maybe Venus?
Oh, actually that could well be. Because of the cloud cover I couldn’t really see whether other stars were visible or not (though I’ve heard they can be). But that does seem to be in about the right place for Venus. I guess was lucky to get a second gap in the clouds in the right place to see it! haha.
