After the new school policy made unisex communal showers rather normal for teens, infact kind of popular, a lot of them started doing them outside of school.
Hanging out with friends and a relaxing bubble bath (for time-to-time at least) are both almost universally liked, so why not combine them?
The answer to this was that, showering and bathing is something private, because nudity in front of each other is indecent.
But after the school policy passed, requiring students to shower with each other, most students just realized that there is nothing indecent about nudity.
While it is still usually just a close friend group (or even just a friendship), it is increasingly getting popular.
It also serves as a good start into permanent nudity. You don’t even need to go naked in front of any stranger. You can just start by getting used to being naked in front of people, and then maybe continue with a nude beach, and then finally become pn.
It also not just a “boy vs girl” thing. While most close friends doing things do tend to be the same sex, it is not at all uncommon to do with the opposite sex.

Having a laptop that close to the tub would give me anxiety.
I can’t barely fit in a bathtub on my own let alone have someone in it with me lol
I would never have a notebook near the bathtub neither lol
