This turns out to be a tool to try PN for 24 hours for the cost of a transit card.
Just hop the turnstile in front of a fair enforcement officer. Get your clothes taken away, and get issued a 24 hour PN pass. Come back the next days and show your transit card and swipe in as usual. Get your clothes back and carry on.
I could imagine word going out on social media and flash mobs turning up at a given station with a hundred or more people vaulting the barriers at one time. Wonder how the authorities would deal with THAT scenario!
I always thought that April 1st should have “Try PN for a Day” events.
Either no registration or else a 24 hr registration, something like that.
