    • No it doesn’t. That’s why this is #alt. I wish I’d noticed that line before I started posting the series to be honest, I might have gotten in touch with Mariner77 and suggested revising it.

  1. Let him appeal his sentence to a naked one while releasing him from prison with his lawyer’s help. Your boyfriend will be a productive citizen instead of a burden to the state. Good Luck

    • This may be a small detail, but in this entire series of captions, their lover is never specified to be male or female (or anything else), and is left up to the reader’s interpretation. Just thought I’d share that observation.

      • A good point, Megamegatron99. While I was producing this series I actually imagined her lover, and now fiancee, to be female, but it works both ways.

        • Technically fiancée (as opposed to fiancé) does mean female, but a lot of people probably aren’t aware of that, and I must admit I didn’t really pay attention to it either. But I do generally try to favor gender-neutral terms for off-screen love-interests, though it’s not always possible without awkward phrasing,

          • I consider myself pretty knowledgeable on such things and I didn’t know that. Though it does make perfect sense, especially since the word is derived from French, which assigns a gender to most nouns.

          • There’s a similar debate over using blond (for male) and blonde (for female) or one or other of them for both depending on which side of the “pond” we are. As someone who was taught English (Traditional/UK) I try to be aware when I write captions of how they would look to an English (Simplified/US) reader. So I’m sure I can get away with spellings such as labour (labor) or tyre (tire) but in a recent submission I was careful to use the word “jail” which seems to be everywhere these days rather than “gaol” as I would naturally spell it.
