    • As is so often the case, I don’t have a real source. But I do remember where I found it this time, r/AltBoobWorld on reddit.

By the way, I suppose I should make it clear that I was not trying to make fun of this fine young lady, whoever she is. She did look like someone who might be in a gender studies class, which inspired the caption, but I have no idea if that matches her outlook in real life, and in any case, she looks lovely with her boobs out, no irony there.

  1. From the ring on her finger I assume this is a married woman, and it is probably an adult evening class. I approve of the women exposing their breasts for a week but isn’t what the teacher is challenging them to do illegal without topless registration? Should the teacher be allowed to ask them to break the law?

    • In the “real” world, I believe women do have the right to be topless in most municipalities in the USA. Granted it is very rare for any women to exercise this ability in our unfortunately puritanical country.

      • The legal right and the moral right are different things. Legally, “most” municipalities still have laws against female topfreedom in the USA. A few allow females their right to go topless.

Now, courts are starting to change this. If a woman is simply topless, the courts, local by local, state by state, are striking down the laws as discriminatory. Hence, most prosecutors will drop the case or reduce the charges to “disturbing the peace” or such. Most woman are willing to pay a small fine rather than risk being put on a sex offender list.

Locally here, a woman may go topless as courts have allowed. The original “indecency” law is still officially on the books. This is done to add confusion and discourage the practice. Now for major events, they cite some women as “titillating” or baring their breasts for sexual gratification of the woman or someone watching her. That’s a sex crime here. The prosecutors will drop the charges if the person refuses a plea deal. They do not wish to get another court ruling that makes it clear a female can go topless whenever a male can go shirtless.

So, females have the moral right to go topless as do males. The legal right to do so? Well, confusion is nine tenths of the law. They’ll reduce charges to jaywalking to protect that confusion.

        • That’s my understanding as well. It’s true that most states don’t have a law against it, but when it comes to local laws it gets a lot more complicated. And even where no explicit law against it exists, women risk being charged with disorderly conduct or something of the sort, except in the comparatively few places where it’s been previously established as legal through the courts.

        • I was surprised to learn that some states have laws against exposing your bush even if your actual naughty bits are still covered.

  2. “Harmful patriarchal lens”? In what way, because of the human female breasts male’s sperm has meaning and purpose which the breast is just an extension of their motherhood and why men’s instinct to protect women and children have that drive to act upon the inclination, so I’m confused by this…if anything the professor proves this ideology’s rejection of such of an exquisite view and role.

        • Gender studies aren’t that difficult. Cis, straight men are always wrong and are to blame for everything that’s wrong in the world today. Simples!

      • With all due respect that wasn’t a particularly difficult comment through which to parse.

“because of the human female breasts male’s sperm has meaning and purpose” -> it is only because of breasts that human sperm has meaning, because (in the absence of modern-day technology) a baby is not capable of surviving without nourishment from milk. Thus without breasts, sperm would be next to useless.
“which the breast is just an extension of their motherhood” -> fairly straightforward; the ability to feed is an element of motherhood
“and why men’s instinct to protect women and children have that drive to act upon the inclination” -> thus breasts would be expected to spark within us an ancient and ingrained instinct to protect

The only element of the gentleman’s comment that I would be inclined to contest is the word “exquisite”. To each his own but they’re not quite my type.

Oh yeah and I agree that comment was kinda cringe
