However, I have a daughter who spent her early years as my son.
I found nothing ill spirited about the first comment. It raised a legitimate possiblility. Something few people think about.
I feel like the more we recognize that the person next to us may not be as simple as our culture expects us to think, the sooner we will all be less closed.
Indeed, far from being ill spirited, my comment reflected the gender issues I’ve been dealing with for over 50 years. I suffered homophobic bullying in my throughout my school life as I didn’t represent what a male was supposed to be. I stuck with the gender I was born with for several main reasons. Although feeling female myself, I was sexually attracted to women. As I hoped to marry and have a family it seemed impractical to literally remove my means of creating a child. I was also too cowardly in that I saw the raw deal women got in the 60’s and 70’s and didn’t need the unwanted sexual attention from males so holding onto my male privilege protected me to a certain extent. Above all I didn’t want to upset my Mother as she had gone against medical advice to have a son in the first place. I’ve seen exactly this kind of anonymous accusation elsewhere on this site. I have to wonder if people look for keywords such as “lesbian” and then copy and paste their criticism from a sticky note without really thinking about it.
Even in a silly website like this, it’s admirable that you shared your experiences and struggles. As much as NWO is basically softcore porn, it does have a lot of posts where PNs celebrate diversity and freedom from toxic patriarchy. Gay and trans people are alike in that regard, minus the rampant public nudity.
It is important to see those underlying issues as genuine, not just focusing on all the bare skin.

You are not necessarily in the wrong section. That “guy” may identify as female and actually be a Lesbian trapped in a male body.

Trans issues do seem to be a magnet for high tempers for some reason. And yes I would appreciate if people could chill about it (on both side).
