It’s more captions that are narrated in second person that I don’t like. If it’s the person in the picture speaking I don’t mind, within reason. I would still probably object if she starts asserting strange details about me. Like “I’ve noticed you look at my boobs a lot since your wife left you”, that would be weird. But as long as it’s clear who’s actually speaking, and it’s generic enough that I can imagine they’re talking to me, I don’t have a problem with it.
That’s a fair interpretation as well. That ambiguity is another reason why this kind of picture passes my test, if you don’t want to mentally insert yourself in the scene you don’t have to.

I got that too. Whether the person is off camera or the person is “you” is open to interpretation.
