    • When I went to High School in the 1960s, that was the boy’s uniform for swim class. Unfortunately, there were no girls around. They used the pool at different hours.

    • My High school didn’t have a swimming pool and the public pool required swimsuits . Those of us who enjoyed skinny dipping had to visit the lakes and rivers in rural areas . Fortunately S.W. Louisiana , where I lived had many.
When we went swimming it was common for boys and girls , friends and family, to swim together. Unless strangers were about, rarely , the norm was for boys to swim naked and the girls to wear swimsuits .
To the best of my memory no one ever complained. It was something of a macho man thing for boys , showing off to the girls . For the girls , they made no attempt to hide the pleasure they were experiencing .
An unwritten rule was no crudeness . If any boy got a little vulger the other boys would be quick to reprimand the offender . That’s the way things were in rural Louisiana late 60’s and early 70’s.
We did have one great adventure. The biggest city in the region was Lake Charles , La. During the 70’s streaking fad we went on a streaking adventure. With going into details, us boys who took part ended up riding in the back of 3 pickup trucks going home naked distance about 60 miles.
