This was originally going to be a quick reply to a comment, but I might as well go into more detail and put it where more people will see it.
I figure there are three basic scenarios for nudity in the NWO setting, not counting oddball stuff losing your clothes while skinny dipping or registering by accident somehow. But first let me back up a step and talk about the legal framework. The main plank of it is of course so-called Permanently Naked status. You can either sign up for it, or it can be imposed as a punishment for a crime. (Then there’s Permanently Topless and Bottomless, which are an alternative voluntary status and punishment, respectively.) But also parents and schools can impose nudity on their children and students. And this is more flexible. It doesn’t last any specific length of time and they can make up whatever rules they want. Also note that this includes adult dependents and students in any type of school, so feel free to assume all characters are 18+.
OK so #1 you’ve got voluntary nudity, where someone registers on their own. This also includes some cases under parental or school authority where they ask to be naked or willingly sign up for a class that requires nudity etc. #2 is nudity as a punishment, either for a crime as above, or when parents and schools use it in lieu of the more traditional grounding or detention. In any of these cases it’s intended to be embarrassing.
Finally #3 is nudity that isn’t voluntary, but isn’t meant as a punishment either. It would include nudist parents who want the whole family to be naked, or schools that believe it’s beneficial (either in general or in specific case) for students to experience nudity. In these cases it’s not intended to be a method of humiliation or presented as a bad thing at all. Even though they don’t have a choice, that could have a big effect on how someone experiences it. Although, of course they might still be embarrassed, especially the the first few times they have to do it. The version of this I’ve referred to most often Body Comfort Week, where a school requires all students spend a week naked both in an out of school, probably once a year. As the name implies it’s meant to encourage a healthy body image. It’s probably not very widespread, but it has its proponents and it wouldn’t be shocking or anything to find a school with that policy. Schools that use nudity as a punishment are less likely to do it of course, as the two policies would be working at cross purposes.
So anyway, to directly answer the question I got, this post here is an example of something like that. Evidently they have a more flexible system where students have to spend a few days naked per year (probably one a semester or something) but they can pick the days. I’m inclined to think having everyone naked at once is a better idea if the goal is to get everybody comfortable with it. But maybe this school has a different purpose in mind, it could be intended more as a challenge to build confidence or something. So that’s the third kind of nudity, it’s probably the least common (in my captions anyway) but I’m sure it will continue to come up from time to time.

I can’t stress the point about everyone depicted being over 18 enough. The current oversexualisation of nudity (and this happens in some images on this site as well, sadly, and more than a few of the PN universe stories and books) has let to the majority of people associating any display of nudity with sex and thus pornography.
As to PN being embarrassing, I don’t think it is (or has to be) once one gets used to it.
Certainly in cases where it’s entered into voluntarily I’d guess it would only last like that for a short “oh god what did I get myself into” phase lasting maybe a few hours.
“I’m inclined to think having everyone naked at once is a better idea if the goal is to get everybody comfortable with it.”
True, but if the idea is to get people comfortable with nudity in an otherwise clothed society, having each student (as much as the roster allows) do it on a different day is far more effective.
I can envision a system where students have to sign up for specific days, and the college then assigning days using those requested ones as much as possible so as to divide it such that there’s a somewhat identical number of nude students each day (possibly also taking weather conditions into account, don’t want to require people to come to campus nude during a blizzard after all).
And that climate thing is the most troubling RL issue I have with PN (not counting the legal and cultural issues, which with time could hopefully be resolved).
In a large part of the area inhabited by mankind the weather doesn’t allow for outdoors nudity for at least part of the year.
What rules would exist for PN people during those periods, what would they be allowed to do to protect themselves against the weather when it’s say below 10 degrees Celcius and being outside naked for prolonged periods is seriously uncomfortable or (if it gets to near or below freezing) downright dangerous.
Will they be allowed to wear clothes during those periods, at least outdoors? If so, what kind of clothes? What would they do with those clothes when moving indoors into a place other than their home (supermarkets getting clothing lockers like swimming pools have now?).
Now that’s the kind of comment I hope to see more of!
I have to protest one thing though, I never claimed this was a naturist blog or anything like that. So I disagree with calling some of it “oversexualized”. I was never shooting for nonsexual in the first place. I get what you’re saying though. For instance back on tumblr I saw some of the naturist blogs posting pictures with nude children, which is fine in that context, but since my blog does have an erotic component I would never do that. The ages of the “characters” as distinct from the real people in the pictures, may be ambiguous, and people can assume what they like, but even then I make sure I never directly or indirectly say they’re under 18. (e.g. they might “go to school” but they would never be “in 10th grade”.)
Good thoughts on why they might want to stagger nude days. It could be as much about getting other students used to being around naked people all the time as it is about living being yourself. And yeah, I kind of imagined something like that setup, which I guess is slightly implied in his statement that “you get to pick the date most of the time”. Presumably the institution insists the days be spread out and reserves the right to assign dates if necessary. Or on the other hand, maybe they also do an everybody-nude day occasionally.
For the weather, yes they can wear clothes outdoors when it too cold to be naked safely and with a reasonable degree of comfort. I’ve done a few captions about this (more too come no doubt as I try to follow real life seasons to some extent). When it’s seriously freezing they can of course wear as much clothing as necessary, but laws probably vary on how much allowance they make for comfort when it’s chilly but not actually dangerous. I think I’ve got a caption somewhere that says they can wear only one article of clothing in that case. It could be a full-body coat, but it has to be a single piece so they can remove it quickly. So that’s one possibility.
And yes they have to remove cold-weather clothing when they come inside. I’ve done some captions on that specifically, and how it can be a awkward (or conversely, fun) to undress in front of people in that situation. I think this story is the first time lockers have been mentioned. That’s about a workplace, but it’s certainly plausible that some businesses would provide them for customers too. For that matter some places already have cloakrooms for storing outerwear in real life. Otherwise permanudes would just have to stick it under their desk at work, in their shopping cart at the store, or carry it if nothing else is practical.
oh, I’m under no impression this is meant to be a naturist blog. Was more of a warning against people assuming any of the topics here condone sexualising minors.
That said, I wish in the future this could be considered a naturist blog in that the situation where PN people are normal in society (albeit probably rare) becomes reality (whether by “registration” or downright abandoning laws prohibiting public nudity entirely).
But that’s a long time away I’m afraid, I doubt I’ll live to see it.
Well i guess the train left already the Station that pn becomes normal. You could study the history of public nudity, even in schools, that it has indead a positive effect. But that effect would destroy a big industry. Considering we dont live in a democracy it will never happen in the needed volume.
John Brunner wrote a song titled “There’s Show Business Like No Business” which he said was :
It is copyrighted so I will not quote the whole thing, but it starts off:
“Girls hide their ankles,” said Grundy to Granny,
“Because nether limbs must be shrouded in hose —”
“But she’s baring her bosom, she’s baring her fanny!
Why, it’s certain damnation!” says John the Blue Nose.
But the comment “that effect would destroy a big industry” made me think immediately of the last verse:
“Oh, this is disaster!” says Tailor to Cutter,
“For if many more fold their bodies expose
We two must go bankrupt and beg in the gutter —”
“I got there before you!” says John the Blue Nose.
It is true that we (USA) will probably not see acceptance of (non-sexual) nudity as a public “dress choice” in our lifetime. There are so many issues to work out.
But there is one area that I DO expect to see real progress in over the next 15-20 years … and that is female top-freedom. Its primary argument is based on existing laws for gender equality. Its biggest hurdles are societal discomfort and the misguided idea of “protecting the children”. There are many good arguments already formed against these hurdles, they just need “their day in court” so to speak.
Proponents of non-sexual public nudity need to support the top-freedom efforts … but don’t try to hitch their wagon to it too soon. Let it make more headway. Let those aforementioned “hurdles” get knocked down, and maybe Holywood start including more bare-chests (male and female, in non-sexual contexts) in prime-time TV, PG/PG-13 movies, and most importantly, ADs on TV and streaming services.
At that point, the barriers to openly discussing full nudity as a public “dress choice” should be much lower.

It would be cool if authors would revive naked in school/ univetsity / ? Theme
If you do want to read about a reluctant college girl who goes nude in public (NIP) at her CA college then read the 2 books by D.H. Jonathan: The Vounteer and the sequel The Girl Who Stipped Weating Clothes available on Amazon for cheap costs. The question I have for the group is if we could make this research study s reality? I’m going try my best to save humanity and I could use your help to do it.
Correction: the first book is called The Volunteer. Sorry folks this was my first post. I would welcome all comments.

As one of the original authors, over twenty years ago, let me tell you how difficult it is to explore new territory in that universe. So many stories were pumped out over those years. In order to be true to that universe, a story must follow others and not deviate too far.
I tried writing a sequel – Keiko, Naked in College. Every time I sat down to continue writing, I felt my mind just going over old stories already told. Mindblocked for new ideas in that universe, even if I was spinning the NIS universe off into college. It was just a naked girl in college at that point. While many drafts were the emotional toll on Keiko being left without clothing, the nudity was a second thought to those attempts. They never seemed to fit back into the NIS universe.
The legendary Base. Hello. I love your work on the College code of conduct. Big fan.
Most kind of you to write that. The College Code of Conduct is a fun universe to explore as well. After a bit, it is difficult to new material there without rehashing old. It is also difficult to keep the NWO, CCC and NIS universes separate when writing.
