“Being under the influence” (of alcohol or any other drug) is not a defense for anything. One chooses to partake of whatever drug it is, and therefore chooses to be responsible for whatever action they take while under the influence of that drug. If she is prone to making decisions while under the influence that she regrets later, she should have taken precautions to prevent such. The judge is absolutely right to penalize her for wasting the court’s time.
the extension does seem severe, especially since she was ‘drunk’ at the time. so what? you have to be blackout drunk to get the registration reversed? this judge will probably ignore that and deny anyway. lesson learned. Don’t drink and register?
First of all, I want to mention that I’m almost sure I’ve used this photo before, but I can’t find it for the life of me, and it was definitely quite awhile back (likely on tumblr) so it doesn’t seem fair to reject this submission based on that.
Anyways, I think she has a point. A lot of places don’t allow people to register drunk (although it would be rare to impose a formal sobriety test or anything), but I I can see the judge’s point too. Extending her registration seems a bit excessive though (or very excessive depending on how many years he extended it to reach ten!)
This was one of my submissions from way, way back, I believe. I think the caption was something about her being so embarrassed that she closed her eyes. It would be years ago now, but I remember it because it was a fairly unique pic at the time. As you said, I’m sure it must have been a “reblog” or something I sent from the Tumblr days. I’m all for occasionally recycling pics/submissions, especially if the caption is interesting each time (which it is, IMO).
Alright, with your confirmation to back up my memory, I took one more look and finally found it (manually, the fact that my automated dupe checker couldn’t find it is mystery in itself, usually it’s pretty good).
Anyway, I’m not gonna put it up on the main page right after the look-alike, but here it is as a “secret” post for historical value… or whatever. lol
