  1. Doing an upgrade from merely topless to full PN should be a simple process without having to wait for expiration.

    • I have always believed that in many places the legislators saw Permanent Nudity as a punishment only and did not want non-convicts running around naked; however, so many people were committing minor offences so that they would be sentenced nude that it was clogging up the court system. They decided that the only way to clear the court system was to allow voluntary registration. They made it virtually impossible to cancel the registration in the hope that enough people would become unhappy with being PN that their regret would reduce new registrations. And of course since they wanted to restrict the amount of nudity on the streets, they also made it virtually impossible to ‘upgrade’ from topless to full nudity.

As you know, the restrictions did not reduce the number of registrants.

    • What you say is certainly reasonable, but this is the government we’re talking about here. Being reasonable isn’t something they’re always good at.

Captions are divided on whether this is possible or not, so my standard explanation is that it varies from place to place.

      • If you’re a voluntary permanude, and you get convicted for breaking some law, might you be sentenced to a term wearing clothes?

        • Kind of, yes. I’ve only mentioned it a couple times, but it’s possible to get a bottomless sentence even if you were already permanently naked (or topless, presumably). Which would mean you have to start wearing a shirt.

        • Or perhaps a shift to Strict PN with the exception/mandate of a locking waist chain with a boldly visible convict ID tag. Maybe including an electronic tracking chip.
