  1. I’m not sure I understand the dynamic between the two pictured characters. If the man is a foreign police officer isn’t he being rather familiar with the woman? If so, this is like a trophy pic for him? Or is he her boyfriend?
Regarding the question of AI, what parts are AI generated? Are the characters CGI? Photoshopped? It all looks very real to me.
Is the caption written by AI?
What makes you suspect that it’s AI?
Sorry for so many questions. I just find this very confusing.

    • I understood him to be a foreign police officer or similar yeah. And I agree he’s being awfully familiar.

For the AI, probably the whole picture (minus the text). Most of it looks great, but there are certain details that give it away. The guy’s fingertips look messed up, and that blue and white patch on his uniform has nonsense symbols. Hands and text are both well known weak points of AI art. (The multicolor patch looks pretty weird too.)

  2. I’d also suggest a separate tag just for AU stuff, so we can filter it out in case we don’t want to see it.

    • In theory I’d like to do that, but it poses the problem that I have to figure out what’s AI and what isn’t in order to tag it. That isn’t always easy, especially if people send stuff that combines AI art and photographs. And it’s only going to get harder as the technology gets better.

That’s the same reason I decided against having a tag for photoshopped images.

        • I did try a similar free site, https://isitai.com but its accuracy is terrible. Perhaps the one you linked is better, but it looks like it costs money.

Anyway, yeah, not an easy problem. I guess I could just start tagging the ones I do notice and see how it goes.

          • Hi,
I recently read (unfortunately I can’t find the source again) the story where a teacher/professor/… entered the exam papers into ChatGPT and asked whether they were generated by ChatGPT. He always got a “Yes” as answer and therefore always gave the pupils/students/… 0 points. Luckily, the pupils/students/… were able to prove to an examination board that they had created them themselves.

The problem is that ChatGPT basically claims that a work always was his, even if this is not true. Who knows whether the graphics systems don’t lie like that too. So if no source for an AI graphic is given, you should proceed with caution.

          • definitely need a different tag. can always apply when obvious. The AI check tools apparently can’t tell either.

  3. Pretty harsh that she’s not allowed to leave the country until her sentence is up, but it’s plausible some countries might do that, and it beats serving that time in prison at least.

Also this appears to be an AI image, thus the #art tag. I know some people really don’t like those, but I don’t have a rule against them. I do insist they be good quality though. This one, passes that test for me.
