That plug-in got an update which made it work again… mostly. For some reason it’s doing only single words now and the settings page seems kinda broken. Maybe it’ll either get another update to fix that or I can try tinkering with it myself a little.
On the other hand. The spam wasn’t too bad. There was some, maybe one every couple days, but fortunately most got held for moderation because they used too many links, so they never made it onto the blog. So… what do you guys think? Will you be disappointed to see CAPTCHAs come back?
Edit: Had to turn them on after a wave of spam pushing (presumably fake) designer clothes and such things. That’s pretty ironic come to think of it. Does this look like a site for people who like clothes?

CAPTCHAs were flaky for me. I know I got them right, but they often sent me an error message.
Sorry to hear that. Honestly I’m not sure what I can do though. It possible they expire after a certain amount of time. It might a good idea to use the “Change Image” link just before you fill in the answer if you’ve been on the page a while.
Only thing I can think of.
I’ve always had to “change image” before filling in the answer, as the first one never worked. Now I just automatically do that every time.
Well, I’m suddenly getting a barrage of spam, 11 today if my count is right. So CAPTCHA’s back on.
I enjoyed not having to jump through the extra, sometimes difficult to use hoop of CAPTCHA. Maybe wait until it’s needed to start it up. But I am not as computer savvy as you and some other followers of this board. So if it’s necessary for safety, then we can deal with the minor inconvenience of CAPTCHA.
I really wouldn’t label it as a safety concern. I mean, I guess if spam does get through and people are dumb enough to click the links that could be unsafe… but most of the spam gets held for moderation anyway, and hopefully you guys are smart.
So I think I’ll hold off for now. But it’s good to know I have the tool available again in case there’s a big influx of spam at some point.
It’s a must have safety thing so it’s got to come back even if we do hate it
