Apparently so. That’s what I get for not following the news, I guess. For what it’s worth, I take responsibility for the bad timing. Like I said previously, David sent this quite some time ago.
I still don’t quite understand though… why is there drama about Taylor Swift deepfakes right now? None of the stories I can find mention any particular incident, and in fact they indicate she hasn’t made any statement about the issue. What actually happened?
Apparently, some pervy tech nerd posted AI “deep fakes” of a “nude Taylor” getting passed around at a Kansas City Chiefs game (She’s famously dating Travis Kelce, a Chiefs player). The pics look realistic enough, because of the high tech nature, but anybody with any shred of intelligence can tell they aren’t really her. The outrage is because of the particularly sexual nature of some of the pics. Not merely the average “nude fakes” they’re implying she’s, shall we say “particularly slutty” and engaging in XXX activity. Taylor hasn’t commented on it, with most people assuming she’s “not dignifying this with a response”.
The other part of that is at least some of the fakes were posted in Twitter-X and were up for a number of hours before getting taken down. Metrics of somewhere around 46 million views, including a number of her ardent fans.
So basically instead of being confined to obscure corners of the Internet where fakes aren’t necessarily unusual, the recent events broke out to the mainstream
BBC News headline ” Taylor Swift deepfakes spark calls in Congress for new legislation”. Sharing of deepfake pornography became an offence in the UK under the Online Safety Act from October 26th 2023.
Not as such, but like 90% of the #celeb stuff is fake (with just a smattering of real celebrity nudity). I didn’t tag it #AI because as far as I’m aware it’s a conventional fake.
This is a pretty old submission I hadn’t used yet. Mostly because he sent multiple celebrity fakes at around the same time and I don’t like to overdo that theme. Also it wasn’t directly labeled as being a sequel, but not that I look, I suppose it makes sense to consider it part of a series.
Terrible timing

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

Yeah, that’s also worth noting.
taylor Shit
She was wearing clothes, but she…shook them off…
She is a giraffe and welcome to the Internet Taylor
This is great.
This is in terrible taste considering the Taylor Swift AI pics controversy.
what controversy

Indeed!
Is there a tag for fakes or AI generated?
