Indeed. I forget if this ever made it into a caption (or maybe one of those “interview” features?), but I remember thinking about this once before. Like if you were trying to come up with an excuse so a permanude player wouldn’t be excluded in a LARP group, something to do with elves seems like a really obvious answer.
Oh, there are a lot of ways you could take it. A permanude could LARP as a class that would have traditionally been naked in the real world, like a skyclad magic user or a Berserker. And Shadowrun even has a suit of armor called “Second Skin,” which is completely invisible, and has this lovely bit of flavor text to go with it:
“Story time. I was making an extraction from a beach of an exec’s wife. She was there sunbathing with two of her girlfriends, string bikinis all around. I walked up, flashed my palm pistol, and then asked Mrs. Exec to come quietly. All of a sudden the girlfriend on the right is naked. Poof, bikini is gone. The distraction was enough for the other girlfriend to kick up a footfull of sand in my face. The brawl started after that, and I was not happy to discover that both of her “girlfriends” were wearing Second Skin. “
Considering how in tune with nature Elves typically are, nudity might be more appropriate for them.

The first two crossed my mind as well. Wasn’t aware of the Shadowrun armor thing though, that’s pretty cool.
