In general I would assume it’s easy to go to a stricter registration, as you said. But changing it the other way would either impossible or a whole lot harder. As I always say the exact rules probably vary, but I wouldn’t think it would be something you could just do automatically, there would probably me some kind of approval process requiring to go through at least.
If shoes aren’t necessary safety equipment, they shouldn’t be required at work. Permanudes should be naked, and accessories are their prerogative.

Maybe tangential, but I imagine you could make a regular registration strict, but could you go the other way, and change to a relaxed registration?
