The plane in the image is a single seat, single engine prop plane. However, based on the wing shape, it has to be a P-47 Thunderbolt. However, the P-47 was never used by the US Navy. Meanwhile, the symbol used is Specification Number AN-1-9b, which was used from August 14th, 1943 to January 14th, 1947, which makes it have to be at that time. More than likely, the artist just picked the P-47 because it is one of the most iconic and basic WWII-era fighter shapes and gave it a navy livery.

The drawing has a gull wing design which makes it a F4U Corsair and the engine is also right for a Corsair.
I do admit that the wingtips look a little off for a Corsair, but overall not too bad .

If you forget to drop the tail hook when you land, they hook your tail to the deck until you remember.
