I understood that the guys turned up dressed, which would be allowed if the party was clothing optional, but not if it is a nude party – as it appears to be.

No, it’s not “clothing optional”; its CMNF. The ladies must be naked, the men must be clothed. Nothing ‘optional’ about it.
