Coveralls, or any other general body covering, would be completely unneeded – especially for her. However, while on the shop floor, safety shoes would be a good idea. Depending on the task and/or other work going on, gloves and safety glasses/goggles and hearing protection would also be appropriate.
Coveralls would probably help if she were working under the vehicle or something like that, just for minor cuts and scrapes. Nothing serious though, so if she insists she doesn’t need them I wouldn’t argue either.
