The MiL may not have had that experience but she is absolutely right. From the time a woman finds out she is pregnant she should remain naked until she stops nursing.
Then again, all women should just stay naked all the time anyway. (Exceptions can be made, of course, for necessity of protection from extreme conditions for a brief time.)
