If we can have cell phones read fingerprints or perform face detection for the user, it would seem simple enough to have PN register their fingerprints or have their face scanned into a database that the police would access without any need for a silly piece of paper or plastic card to carry about.
A free society does not stop individual to ask, “Papers, please.”
Not sure I want the govt to have such a database, but they already do with driver licenses and other IDs
In other captions I’ve said that facial recognition is catching on as a replacement for cards. Probably available in most places by now. Fingerprints don’t seem much better than being asked for a card, except it would save the hassle of carrying one when you don’t have pockets. I suppose it could be an additional option though.
where do PN keep this card?
